  • I am very grateful to the employees at Wal-Mart, but it is galling that the Wal-Mart management there does not fix this problem at its source, ensuring the prices listed on the label match the price the register pulls up
  • On the other hand, these pricing errors sometimes work in my favor, though never so drastically as to automatically make up for the overcharged items from clearance and rollback, so definitely still check the price the register pulls up when those sale items are being scanned

On the whole, different Wal-Mart locations are generally so similar as to not be worthy of review. With some variation in product availability, Wal-Mart stores tend to fall within a set range of general assumptions regarding service, product quality, and the types of products carried. However, the south Lincoln Nebraska location of Wal-Mart stands out as needing to be reviewed and customers needing to be warned to be wary.

Like other Wal-Mart locations, the South Lincoln Wal-Mart often does roll-backs and clearance sales. However, unlike the other Wal-Mart locations I have been to throughout five of the United States, the South Lincoln Wal-Mart consistently mislabels its rollbacks and clearance items, and even a significant number of “regularly-priced” items by the time

I get through the checkout. The only reason I still shop there is the convenience of the location in relation to my home and the fact that most of the employees are very understanding about fixing the prices at the register, dealing with many pricing error-related alterations daily. I am very grateful to the employees at Wal-Mart, but it is galling that the Wal-Mart management there does not fix this problem at its source, ensuring the prices listed on the label match the price the register pulls up. Admittedly, I do not have any insight as to what management there is doing, if anything, not being an employee myself, but I would think that they would devote every effort to ...

      • fixing this rather than letting it continue on for the past year and three months I have been using the South Lincoln Wal-Mart location.

Still, Wal-Mart is Wal-Mart, and the cheap prices and good quality of the products make it worth going to even in spite of these pricing problems. As I said before, the employees are very understanding and willing to fix the prices as soon as you bring it to their attention, either at the register or at the customer service desk, depending on when you catch the error. Personally, I use my cell phone camera to take pictures of clearance and roll-back items I am purchasing to save time at the register, both to remind myself to ensure I

get the correct sale price and also so the cashier has easy proof to fix the price then and there. On the other hand, these pricing errors sometimes work in my favor, though never so drastically as to automatically make up for the overcharged items from clearance and rollback, so definitely still check the price the register pulls up when those sale items are being scanned. A few cents undercharged here and there on random items does not balance out the dollars that are supposed to be saved when an item is being sold on clearance. As long as you keep an eye on things, though, the South Lincoln Wal-Mart in Nebraska is still worth going to thanks to the employees.
