Like many other episodes of the popular 1990s American television series “The X-Files” I thought this one was also quite interesting. In fact, I can remember a familiar face of an actor in there who seems to star in many B-Movies such as “The Candyman” and “The Strange Case of Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde”. “Sleepless” was the 28th episode of “The X-Files” and the fourth episode in the show’s

      second season.

This episode was introduced when an elderly man who we later learn is a scientist is asleep on the couch in his hotel room, when he suddenly wakes up and sees black smoke coming from under the door. He opens it and then sees the place outside engulfed with flames. He calls the management of the hotel immediately and informs them about a fire near to his room,

      • 606, and then hangs up and begins to try to extinguish it with a fire extinguisher in his room. However the flames seem too high and too hot for the fire extinguisher and therefore he drops it and retreats. Smoke engulfs the room and the man drops on the floor coughing.

A little later the fire alarm is sounded in the hotel and the firemen approach the room and since

they see no smoke and the door does not feel hot, assume it’s only a false alarm. However, they break down the door anyway and finds the scientist dead in his room with no evidence of a fire at all. Agent Mulder and his new partner agent Alex Krycek are sent to investigate the strange case in which the scientist seemed to have died from burns but there was no fire about.
