Natural Born Killers is a film that came out in 1994. It was rated R. But there is an NC-17 DVD version that I’ve recently bought.

This movie was kind of shocking for its time. It’s

roughly a Bonnie and Clyde type film, only with more gratuitous violence, and tons of inappropriate and politically incorrect situations.

Oliver Stone directed this film (along with U-Turn)–and his vision is very explicitly depicted by actors Woody Harrelson and Juliette Lewis. The two make a formidable pair, as they travel across the country on a killing spree.

They typically leave at least one victim alive, so as to have their story told. In the movie, Mickey and Mallory (Woody and Juliette) have a torrid and sordid love affair as they rapidly amass popularity with the media.

      Robert Downey,

Jr. portrays the sleazy media reporter “Wayne Gale”.

He does a fabulous job with his pinching Australian accent, and adds plenty of color to the movie. Natural Born Killers is simply chock full of great actors including Tommy Lee Jones, and the late Rodney Dangerfield.

is a truly violent film, that is definitely not for kids. But I think that those who have a sick sense of humor, and a strong stomach will more than likely LOVE this Oliver Stone “classic.

” I recommend purchasing the uncut (or NC-17, can’t remember) DVD, because there are some terrific special features.
