  • Then there is perhaps the best cliffhanger episode in all of Star Trek
  • There is not one episode on this DVD season set that I consider poor quality, and that really is an impressive achievement
  • I highly recommend this set not only to fans of The Next Generation and Star Trek in general, but to fans of science fiction

The third season of Star Trek: The Next Generation is far superior to the second season, although much like the second season, this season is also missing stories that invoke a real sense of wonder and adventure that was present in the first season. Also missing is the vibrant and varied background music from the first season.

On the upside, this season features better uniforms, special effects, alien makeup and superior scripts.

      I particularly like how

this season featured a couple stories that feature the Romulans, like “The Defector” and “The Enemy”.

These episodes are very enjoyable because for the first time, the series gives the Romulan race some depth rather than simply assigning them to the role of powerful adversary.

This season also has a lot of excitement and action compared to the later seasons.

Episodes like “The High Ground”, “Yesterday’s Enterprise” and “The Survivors” feature fast-paced person-to-person combat and starship-to-alien ...

      • ship battles that really add a cetain tension and excitement that later seasons seemed to be missing.

Then there is perhaps the best cliffhanger episode in all of Star Trek: The Best of Both Worlds Part 1.

The Borg make their second appearance on the show and boy is it ever a memorable one! There is not one episode on this DVD season set that I consider poor quality, and that really is an impressive achievement.

I highly recommend this set not only to fans of The Next Generation and Star Trek in general, but to fans of science fiction.

There is a great blend of action and mystery, as well as some drama and comedy too, and some sci-fi concepts that are fresh and make a person think about the issues that are brought up in the stories.

Overall, a very enjoyable season set that also has a nice amount of extras as well!
