  • It is a shame too because the story had terrific potential because it was dealing with themes that so many people could relate to and, if handled right, could have resulted in a movie that not only brought in more money but also provide viewers with something substantial and meaningful to think about

Star Trek: Generations is a good movie that could have been better had the story not demanded that Kirk be included so that the “torch could be passed” from the original Star Trek crew to the Next Generation crew. The story also demanded that the Enterprise-D be destroyed and while the crash scene involving the saucer was very impressive and well-executed, the manner in which the Enterprise-D was

so badly damaged to the point where the saucer needed to be separated was not.

It is a shame too because the story had terrific potential because it was dealing with themes that so many people could relate to and, if handled right, could have resulted in a movie that not only brought in more money but also provide viewers with something substantial and meaningful to think about.

      • There are a few lines that start to scratch the surface of a few deep, philosophical themes, but it is handled in such a clumsy way that the lines fail to have much impact at all.

I also found it odd and distracting how the crew kept switching and alternating between TNG and DS9 uniforms and how dark the Enterprise-D sets looked.

Unbelievably, the interiors looked better on

television as opposed to in the movie! What I did really like about this movie was the music.

It featured epic themes as well as soft, delicate ones that fit the scenes very well.

Overall, the movie has a good amount of action and some drama, and features some impressive music and scenes, as well as a great villain, but there are several problems with the story that cannot be overlooked.
