  • Certainly, Simon Cowell doesn't care what anyone else thinks, and while he is definitely full of himself at times, he is the one judge who does, on occasion, give critique
  • I agree that sometimes Simon doesn't back up his crass and brass comments with suggestions, which I wish he would do, but at other times, he does

Simon Cowell needs a few lessons in common, everyday politeness. That said, I don’t quite believe he’s as horrid as he comes off.

The other night, as an audition-er walked off, Simon suggested he go back and watch tapes of Simon on American Idol — “for confidence”. Right away, Paula Abdul and others laughed and got on his case, but I understood what the British citizen was saying.

Simon Cowell is where he is, in part, because he comes off as an

arrogant know-it-all who doesn’t care who he hurts. Behind that image is a world of self-confidence, and that’s the message he was trying to give. If you want to be a success in Hollywood, or anywhere, you need that confidence that won’t deter you or let anyone take you down.

Certainly, Simon Cowell doesn’t care what anyone else thinks, and while he is definitely full of himself at times, he is the one judge who does, on occasion, give critique.

      • This, in spite of Ryan Seaquest’s ongoing challenge to do so that would say the opposite. I agree that sometimes Simon doesn’t back up his crass and brass comments with suggestions, which I wish he would do, but at other times, he does.

I often don’t agree with Simon Cowell’s voting on American Idol, but he’s right more than the other ones are. Not sure how crazy I am, though, about the new rule’s in 2009 that give him the final

        say so in the judging.

Also, there is another side to the man. The trip to Africa a few years ago with Ryan showed heart, feeling, and compassion. I’ve seen him donate money to other charities and things, as well. So, how much of his aloofness and arrogance is real, and how much is image for the public’s sake, I’m not sure.

One thing is for sure — Simon Cowell has confidence. That’s probably the one thing everyone can agree on.
