Christopher Judge is best known for playing the tall, very strong Jaffa on Stargate SG-1. Indeed, that’s where I know him from. Of course, he did do one episode of MacGyver that is a hoot to go back and watch. As I recall, it was one of the very first acting bits that he’d ever done.

On SG-1, for the first few years, all Christopher Judge really had to do was just stand there, or sit there, and look menacing. He probably had less dialog than any of his castmates. He apparently loved taking

advantage of that by trying to throw his co-stars off, distracting them when they had huge paragraphs of dialog to offer.

Christopher Judge is known for being the prankster of the set. He’s credited with numerous jokes on both cast and crew. However, he’s also massively afraid of bears. Michael Shanks tells a tale of how they pulled a fast one on Chris one day, making him believe a bear was nearby, and Chris went running down the hill, never looking back.

For many years, Chris was the party type. He’s a nice guy who loves having ...

      • a good time. I’ve heard a lot of stories about this from people who have met him, and I’ve seen the results in several internet and DVD conventions and events. I’ve often said (teasingly) he was a bad influence on Shanks, who is one of his best friends. Those two used to go out and party hard, and it showed the next day.

Now married with kids (both of them), reportedly that’s toned down, which I believe is a good thing.

Christopher Judge is a talented writer. He wrote four episodes of SG-1, and they were

        all excellent.

With SG-1 over, I’m curious to see what becomes of Christopher Judge in the future. Along with acting and writing, he is a skilled photographer. In fact, he and Shanks released a Women in Sci Fi calendar a few years back. They were supposed to do a Men in Sci Fi calendar, but I never heard if they completed that project or not.

I don’t view Christopher Judge as having the talent of his SG-1 co-stars, but the show gave him a presence and a fan base, and when you have that, anything is possible!
