In season 4 of Stargate SG-1, there was an episode called 2010 that I just didn’t like very much, reason being everyone was just so depressed with their lives. Season five gives us the precursor to that episode, though, and it’s called 2001. It’s far better and more enjoyable in my opinion.

Stargate SG-1: 2001 is the episode when SG-1 makes

contact with the Aschen. They have no clue about the race’s true motives for becoming an ally, but eventually, they figure it out.

Sam does get to meet Joe, the Ambassador she actually married in 2010, and the sparks do fly. Joe’s best scene, though, is early on when he wears dress shoes to the farm planet, and the team just stares at him, knowing the shoes will be ruined.

on going, making it clear he’ll even go back. It’s just funny because Daniel is supposed to be the scared geek and Teal’c the brave warrior, but so often, it’s Teal’c who whines about the danger while Daniel just goes about his job.

Stargate SG-1: 2001 is a solid episode that has a good ending, if not a little weird in that Sam

gets hurt, and her three strong he-men teammates just stare down at her. This has caused a lot of discussion, and the actors have all said it had something to do with camera angles and shots as to why they just stood there. Whatever the reason, it’s kinda funny that they really don’t express any concern over Sam at that moment.

      Good show though.
