In 2009, the NASCAR Bud Shootout Race has been changed, and I’m not sure it’s a good one. In fact, it just feels like one great big car manufacturer commercial.
In previous years, those participating in this very first race of the season were poll setters from the prior year. It was prestigious and something the drivers worked hard for. It meant something to be a racer in the NASCAR Bud Shootout. It
was a thrill, and it meant that the race was a smaller one, maybe twenty or so drivers, depending upon how many unique pole setters there were.
