Stargate SG-1: Enemy Mine is another super entry from season seven. I do have a couple of quibbles, though, one of which is that all of Richard Dean Anderson’s scenes are in the first twenty minutes. They really needed one more at the end and that stands out as a mistake to me.

Another quibble is that Dion Johnstone, who has in the past played Chaka so well, wasn’t

available to film the week they were shooting Stargate SG-1: Enemy Mine. Instead of changing the filming schedule, which I think they should have, especially considering how weird the shooting schedule was in season seven anyway, they cast Patrick Currie as Chaka. Currie makes a good Fifth, but he’s not as engaging of an Unas as Johnstone is. This, too, stood out in a negative way.

      • plus side, all of the Jack and Daniel stuff in the first twenty minutes is outstanding. It’s wonderful stuff. It’s just … terrific! Every scene was perfect, especially the one where Jack puts his hand on Daniel’s shoulder and tells him, “Daniel, go to your happy place.” Classic! Priceless even!

Jack’s last scene in the infirmary is a kick, too. He and Daniel speak in

such a code that it’s fun to watch. There’s a bit of a Sam reaction that a lot of us enjoy, too. This show for the first twenty minutes is just Jack and Daniel heaven.

Also a plus is Michael Rooker as Colonel Edwards. He’s a good actor, and he made a good foe for Daniel throughout the show.

This is a Daniel-centric show, and it’s a goodie, through and through.
