Blackcomb Mountain is one of Canada’s top ski resorts. It has countless runs for all levels and beautiful conditions for skiing and boarding.

You probably already know that. Here’s what you don’t know.

First of all, Blackcomb is extremely expensive to ski. You’re looking at 80$ for just the lift ticket.

If you need to rent it’s another 50-60$ plus food, drinks, lessons, etc. Be prepared to spend a lot. Many people book accommodation and ski packages which are also expensive but may be the better bet.

Second of all, Blackcomb is huge. You will need a full day or two ...

      • to explore it all. Be the first one on the slopes and the last to leave. Also, it’s a good idea to take the last lift up to the top of 7th Heaven and then ski all the way down. That way you are experiencing the best of Blackcomb when
        it’s less busy.

That’s another thing: Blackcomb can be packed, especially on weekends, so try to plan your trip during the week.

For me, a mediocre skier and boarder, the best runs are around the Jersey Cream Chair and in 7th Heaven. The views from the top cannot be beaten either.
