Dazzling, sadistic, moving and creepy, there are far more adjectives to describe Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory than there are golden tickets for Charlie (the character that the original story by Roald Dahl was named for) to find while devouring chocolate bars.

Poor Charlie, while being poor economically as well,

doesn’t get to search very much, only laying his hand onto a few bars sweet goodness. It doesn’t matter, though. Charlie does get his chance to find a gold ticket and enter the magical world of Willy Wonka. There is one problem: The world is as dangerous as it is wonderful ...

      • and before the day is done several other boys and girls will have learned a lesson or two.

This is a film for children but will probably scare quite a few of them. I know that I was this way. At the same time its hard not to be mesmerized by the

breathtaking visuals. It’s also hard to get the Oompa Loompa song out of one’s head for several hours after watching the film.

It’s also worth mentioning, that the film inspired one of Futurama’s most hilarious episodes: Fry and the Slurm Factory. I suggest fans of the film check out that episode for a good laugh.
