Scrubs has, over been the years, become one of the most variable shows on television. The first three seasons are, in my opinion, some of the best seasons for any television show ever made, effectively blending wit, gut splitting humor, and enough raw emotion to, at times, completely cut to the heart. In recent years, however, the show has gone remarkably downhill, with season

seven being almost the exact opposite of the original, brilliant episodes.

Simply put, do not watch season seven. Ever.

It is pure, unadulterated crap, and it spits in the eyes of the phenomenal seasons leading up to it. Now, however, the show has moved to ABC, and, surprisingly, something has changed.

Somehow, and for some reason, the show is starting to get better again. I don;t know if it’s the new network, or simply Zach Braff’s George Michael-esque facial hair, but there are moments when I reminded of it’s former glory, and the heights this show is capable of reaching.

The sheer silliness has been toned down several levels, which is a decidedly welcome change. New storylines are introduced, dealing with these characters who, after eight years, are ...

finally reaching full maturity and adulthood.

Of course, there are still several moments this season that are just plain bad: a number of the interns introduced are stereotypical, one sided joke characters, and not in a good way. In past seasons, when these characters were introduced they were either hilarious enough to stand as stereotypes, or they had greater depth to their characters.

      This

season, however, is straying away from that. The main characters, however, have gone through a reboot of sorts, and are much more watchable than they were in the abysmal past season.

Of course, at the same time I’m still hoping the show ends after this season: one final, great season is really all that’s needed to end the show, and this just might be that season.
