  • They also have jazz music live on Saturday nights in that same bar, which I've witnessed once, and enjoyed
  • Overall, I highly recommend Roscoe's for a very unique experience, as there's not too many, if any, other places in California serving Fried Chicken and Waffles

I frequent Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles on late nights, and have found it to be both a unique and tasty place to go grab one of the more unusual food combinations imaginable - fried chicken and waffles.

The Long Beach location is located just off of Ocean in the heart of Downtown Long Beach, but I’ve found that parking is ample in a small lot just across from the restaurant. However, I have never been to this

particular Roscoe’s in hours earlier than 9:00 pm, and there’s a distinct possibility that arriving earlier will meet you with a longer wait for parking. Do not, I can say, park in the Von’s parking lot down the street, as they employ a security guard just to fend off people parking at the Von’s lot for other purposes than grocery shopping.

Food is just as you would expect - fried chicken, and waffles. The fried chicken isn’t ...

      • the absolute best I’ve had, but it’s still juicy and flavorful, and benefits from the addition of Louisiana Brand hot sauce. The waffles are really quite good, and very large, although somewhat thin. They include some cinnamon in the batter which flavors them nicely, and they come with a large dollop of butter. Chicken and waffle plates range from $10 to $14. Roscoe’s also has a variety of other unusual Southern dishes, such as Fried Chicken
Livers and Giblets, as well as grits and collard greens.

Clientele is eclectic and service is attentive. They serve alcohol, also, as there’s a bar just across from the Roscoe’s that shares the building. They also have jazz music live on Saturday nights in that same bar, which I’ve witnessed once, and enjoyed.

Overall, I highly recommend Roscoe’s for a very unique experience, as there’s not too many, if any, other places in California serving Fried Chicken and Waffles.
