“The House Bunny” came from the same writers that created “Legally Blonde”; while “Bunny” is definitely not the instant classic that “Legally Blonde” was, it’s a cute movie of its own right.

Anna Faris plays Shelley, a Playboy bunny who gets kicked out of the Playboy Mansion at the ripe old age of 27

(which is apparently ancient in “bunny years”). Having no life experience, Shelley doesn’t know how to take care of herself in the outside world. She discovers the world of sororities, and thinks she’s found her place: but she’s rejected because she isn’t a student.

Then she runs into the socially awkward sorority Zeta Alpha ...

      • Zeta. They’re on the brink of being closed down; Shelley promises the girls that she can teach them how to socialize and attract boys. They agree, and she becomes their house mother. Thus commences makeovers, random romantic interests, and very little plot.

I wasn’t impressed with the extremely one-dimensional characters. The main character is

cute, in a pink and sparkly, low IQ sort of way; but she doesn’t really grow and develop the way I had hoped. I wanted to see her learn that looks aren’t everything, but she never really seems to get that far. I would say this movie is worth a watch, but don’t expect too much.
