The movie “Overboard” with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell is one of my favorite movies. I am not one to watch the same movie over and over again, but this is one of those few movies that I can watch time and again on television without getting bored. So, I decided to buy the VCR tape of the movie, which is something I rarely do.

Goldie Hawn portrays a pampered and demanding socialite, Joanna Stayton. Kurt Russell portrays

a lowly carpenter, Dean Proffitt, who also happens to be a widower and father of 4 boys.

The movie takes place in a small Oregon town, where the yacht owned by the Stayton’s is stuck for repairs. While waiting for the repairs, Joanna Stayton decides to have her closet redone and hires a local carpenter, Dean Proffitt.

After the work is completed, Dean requests payment from Joanna, and she refuses to pay him. As the movie progresses, Joanna ...

      • falls overboard and ends up with amnesia.

Dean finds out about Joanna’s predicament through the news on TV and hatches a plan to get his revenge. He then claims Joanna as being his wife and takes her to his home, and of course, to his 4 undisciplined children.

Throughout this whole movie, one thing after another happens, and Joanna’s reactions are hilarious. I recommend this movie to everyone.

It is very entertaining and just fun to watch.

It would be a good movie for a family night at home.

The movie on VCR is 1 hour, 52 minutes long. Specifics: Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer presents Goldie Hawn, Kurt Russell in a Garry Marshall film “Overboard”, Edward Herrmann, Katherine Helmond and Roddy McDowall.

Music by Alan Silvestri, Director of Photography is John A. Alonzo, Written by Leslie Dixon, Executive Producer is Roddy McDowall, Produced by Anthea Sylbert and Alexandra Rose, Directed by Garry Marshall in Association with Star Partners, Ltd.
