While I’m somewhat of a Family Guy fan, some episodes of the show are a bit too lame and lack the funniness I look for in a television sitcom. The episode Road to Rhode Island is one of those episodes.

The episode starts out with Brian feeling a sense of abandonment after remembering being

      taken from his mother.

This leads him to convince Lois to let him fly out to pick up Stewie from his grandparents; in an effort to find himself.

On the way, him and Stewie go through a series of adventures that eventually cause him to end up on the farm he was born on ...

      • and he discovers his mom isn’t only dead, she’s been turned into a living room table.

That’s just a bit too depressing to be funny.

I mean, this is his mother we’re talking about and Stewie’s corny jokes just don’t lighten the mood any.

In the mean time, Lois convinces Peter to watch some

        relationship videos with her.

Those turn out to be a scam to get men to buy more videos as the guy’s “alone time” with the video is basically the woman doing a strip tease.

It’s an Ok episode but not the best episode I’ve seen.

I definitely prefer other episodes and shows to this one and wouldn’t recommend it.
