One of the most riveting episodes in season 2 of Stargate SG-1 is called Holiday. It’s a standout episode for Michael Shanks, who not only plays his usual character of Doctor Daniel Jackson, but also the part of Ma’chello, an aged and infirmed inventor of things to defeat the Goa’uld.

      Every

scene is a gem in this episode, but the absolute favorite is towards the end. Long story short, SG-1 ends up in one another’s bodies, and what a hoot it is to see Richard Dean Anderson playing Teal’c and Daniel, while Christopher Judge plays Jack. Oh, and Michael Shanks ...

      • plays Jack. It is so incredibly funny.

Apparently, the scene took a very long time to shoot because the actors all went way over the top, amusing one another to no end with their imitations of their portrayals. What I would give for copies of that footage. As it

        is, it’s priceless.

On the serious front, the most touching moment comes when Sam talks to the dying Daniel, begging him to hang on. It’s really moving, and one of the best scenes for the fans of this coupling. Amanda Tapping did a great job here in a very emotional moment.

        Top notch episode!
