There are some pros and cons to the Jensen Audio JCR-560 Clock Radio. Actually the item is an am/fm dual alarm cd clock radio, so there’s a lot of product here.

I love the clock display. It’s big and bright. It’s a bit of a pain to reprogram though if the power goes out. Of course, it does

have a battery backup available, but I’ve never used those.

All of the programming controls are on the top. It’s not as clear and simple as I’d prefer, but if you either make a lot of changes, or keep the instruction book handy, it’s not too bad.

The shape of this item is a little different, almost weird. It’s somewhat of ...

      • a flattened triangle shape, with the base speaker being the broadest and the clock and top controls being the narrowest. The CD is actually a circular disc attached to the back. You open it up like a door, insert a single CD, and play. The worst part is making sure you put the CD in on the right

The other thing I don’t like are the radio controls. There’s no scan or easy finding of stations. You have to just turn the tuning knob, which is somehow incredibly old fashioned in this world of ours.

The sound is great, and the unit has worked well. I just wish the features were more user friendly and a little more involved.
