    • Item: “Midnight Vultures” by Beck (1996) Location: by : Famous

This was the Beck album that sealed the deal for me. I was already a Beck fan ever since his alternative hit single “Loser” , hit airwaves in the early 90’s.

But Midnight Vultures combines a weird blend of hip-hop and alternaive vibes like only Beck

The strange sing-song rap style he has works well with the intricate, quirky production.

The icing on the cake, of course, are the lyrics: the odd groupings of imagery.

Beck has had underrated success over the course of a decade, and he continues to produce and create new material.

      This ...

      • album though, proved just how edgy he can be.

“Hollywood Freaks” is my favorite song on the album.

The lyrics reveal all the shiny, glossy atrocities of people in Hollywood.

All that is set against an urban beat, and kitschy background harmonies.

        This is the kind of

CD that you’ll listen to a million times, and always hear something different.

There is even a hidden track on the album.

So you’re tempted to listen all the way through to find it.

At any rate, if alternative music is what you like, then this is a CD you’re sure to enjoy.
