Horror-suspense flick “Eden Lake” keeps you breathless and guessing from start to finish.

Jenny and her boyfriend, Steve, escape to the wilderness for a romantic weekend of camping; Steve is also planning a surprise proposal. Things look great until the couple come across an unruly group of boys who view the Eden Lake wilderness

as THEIR turf. The boys provoke and torment Jenny and Steve, and finally steal and vandalize their car. When Steve tries to confront them, the gang of kids show their dark side and things turn bloody.

The film is shocking and horrifying; it’s reminiscent of “Lord of the Flies”: children, who are supposed to ...

      • be innocent, can turn deadly if given the right (or wrong) circumstances. Jenny proves to be surprisingly tough when it comes to keeping herself and the man she loves alive: the bold actions she takes for survival are at once chilling and praiseworthy. Still, the fact that she’s fighting against children is a
        hideous twist.

I recommend this movie because unlike many horror, slasher, or suspense movies, you’re actually given a chance to get to know the characters and care about their survival. I watched the movie with baited breath, hoping against hope that Jenny and Steve would escape the horror of Eden Lake and make it to safety.
