This is a very old recipe and a classic. My family loves this and I make this for a ’special’ treat for them. I hope you enjoy this one.

      Crumb crust: 1 1/4 c. graham

      crumbs 1/4 c.

butter or margerine 1/4 c. granulated sugar Set aside 1/3 c.

of this mixture. Press remaining into 8″ pie plate.

Bake at 350 degrees for 7 to 8 minutes. Cool.

      Filling: ...

      • 1/2 c. granulated sugar 1/4 teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons cornstarch 1 tablespoon flour 2 c.

milk 2 egg yolks 1 tablespoon butter or margerine 1 teaspoon vanilla Boil 2 minutes. Stir into whisked egg yolks.

Cook 1 minute. Remove from heat and add margerine and vanilla.

Cool 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Pour into crumb crust.

Beat egg whites and add 1/4 c. granulated sugar to make stiff meringue.

Swirl on top of pie and bake at 400 degrees till lightly browned. Cool.
