After the box office flop of The Craving, Paul Naschy never thought he’d ever play the werewolf role he made famous ever again. Well, never say never because he was tapped by a Japanese company to make this strange “Werewolf runs amok in

      fuedal Japan” mini epic.

If the description of the film sounds strange its because…well…it is one strange film.

Imagine the Seven Samurai meet The Wolfman and you get the picture.

Actually, the whole thing is pretty scary as opposed to campy and the ...

      • horror aspects mix with the swordplay and adventure quite well.

        Enjoyable.

Naschy later played Waldemar in a cameo in Howl of the Devil 1990 and then again in 1997 in the AWFUL Lyncanthropus and one last time in the ROTTEN 2004 direct to

video drivel Tomb of the Werewolf.

Curiously, this saw a theatrical release in Texas in 1986.

        How’d that happen?

And to make matters worse, he gets JUMPED BY THE ABOMINABLE SNOWMAN! And the werewolf grapples with a guy in a gorilla suit–I mean–the yeti in the inconprehensible comclusion.

        GREATEST MOVIE EVER MADE!
