I can recall the actual events surrounding this little film. Quite frankly, I was surprised to even see something like this on Netflix. But since Hollywood will make a movie out of anything, I shouldn’t be that surprised.

The true story centers around a young African-American woman who happened to hit a homeless man. The man ended up lodged in the woman’s windshield.

      And she drove

home with him like that, leaving him in her garage while she went to have sex with her boyfriend. The homeless man (who could have been saved) eventually died.

And the woman was sentenced to jail for life. Anyway; this story puts somewhat of a comical spin on the events, with Mena Suvari taking the lead role as the hit and run driver.

      I was a bit ...

Yes, the movie was entertaining. And the ending was quite befitting for the crime.

(I won’t reveal the SPOILER. ) I was looking for something that seemed a bit more realistic instead of sensational.

I think much of the story centered around the shenanigans instead of the feelings that both the driver and victim would have been going through. If you can stomach dark humor (or is it humorous horror) based on true events, then this is the movie for you.

Stephen Rea does a good job of portraying the injured man. But even his exceptional acting skills don’t make this a great film.
