I occasionally take yellow line from Skokie to Chicago if I want to get to downtown. Yellow line is small in all aspects - the trains only have 2 carts, and there are just 2 stops - Howard and Skokie Swift. There is plenty of parking available near the Skokie Swift station -
$2 gets you in the parking lot, but there’s generally plenty of spaces on side streets.
The trains go every 10 minutes or so, a little less often in non-rush-hour periods. They just recently expanded their service to weekends - nice for those folks who don’t want to drive downtown on weekends.
