We went to race to the Chicago Indoor Racing facility to race in go-karts in Buffalo Grove over the past weekend. Overall, it was a great experience. There were 12 people racing, so we bought a group package, which was $85 per person, and that included $12 off dining in

a local restaurant and $5 worth of credit to play video games. For that amount, we got to race 4 times - 3 15-lap qualifying races with top 10 making it to the 30-lap final.

The kards are pretty speedy - you can accelerate up to 35 mph, and given ...

      • how close you sit to the ground, it feels much, much faster. They caution you to drive safely, but a certain amount of bumping is tolerated. If you continue bumping and driving erraticly, there are stop-and-go penalties, and even possible exclusions from th erace.

After the races, we went to

the second level and spent a few more hours in the restaurant (a step above fast food) and playing video games and billiards. Overall, it was a great experience, and I plan on coming back there. It’s pricey, but well worth it, especially if you are in a big group!
