I have a cookbook idea, but the problem is that I’m not a wonderful cook. In fact, I’m a lousy cook. I borrowed this book for two reasons. First of all, I had wanted to see the feasibility of my cookbook idea. The second thing that struck me was the fact that the book title mentioned “self-published”. I want to self-publish a book myself and was hoping that the book will tell me

how to go about doing it.

I must say that the book itself is self-published. The author, Marilyn Moore, even stated that fact and described how the book is done differently from a book published in a publishing house. Talk about practising what you preach! Although I thought the book may look a little dull on the surface, but it has one great feature - it provides you with excellent information on how to ...

      • write, publish and promote your cookbook, any book for that matter. It was more than what I bargained for.

The book made me realise that my cookbook idea may have to be on hold for now. But it is not going to stop me from publishing another book I have already collated. The only setback is that this book is published for American authors and a lot of the examples and company listings does

not apply to me, since I’m in Asia. But the steps to writing, publishing and promoting a book is not different at all. I can always look for similar companies locally.

The author has done a very good job writing simply so that every one can understand. I would receommend this book to anyone who wishes to self-publish a cookbook specifically and to anyone who wished to be come a self-published author generally. A fantastic book!
