  • Also be careful with the fireworks, one year i bought a box of rockets and some didn't even take off before bursting
  • The best part though is the accent people have and the fact that they are easily irritable
  • It is amazing to see how much of it you can eat

Genova is one of my personal favorite Italian cities, not only is it because it is were i was born but also because i have my roots there and every year my family boards a plane and we go back there for the Christmas holidays. Genova is a ‘port’ city it has a huge harbor and it is where cargo ships usually stop to unload things which need to be shipped to the rest of Italy. If you are ever in town I would strongly suggest you visit the aquarium, which ironically enough is right next to the port.

This city has ton of history, it is everywhere you look, whether in the people or the buildings

it’s there. It has a lot to offer from a nightlife point of view, there are many discos and bars which will satiate the need of just about everyone there is.

The movie theater, my personal favorite is huge, it is a multiplex, and you need to walk down a pier like thing to reach it. It is very romantic especially because when the movie finishes you can part from the crowd and admire the stars up above.

There are a lot of trinket stands which sell everything from fireworks to bags and purses. Just don’t expect to find original items.

Also be careful with the fireworks, one year i bought a box of rockets and some didn’t ...

It is quite fun to see two elderly Genovese arguing about who knows what. The beach isn’t anything to go wow over as some areas are covered in rocks and not sand, but there are occasional clean spots.

Just be careful not to dig in the sand as you might get yourself dirty with a tar like substance. All in all i really do advise coming here for a vacation, even if only for a short one.

Whatever you do do not go back home without trying focaccia, many try to imitate it but only the

one from Genova is truly good. It is amazing to see how much of it you can eat.

The best place is a small port town called Camogli, which you ca reach either by car or ferry. Make sure you buy a lot because you will want to eat it by the pound.

A definite must see for anyone travelling to Italy. Make sure you also see Milan, Firenze/Florence, Pisa, Napoli, Rome, Sicily and Sardenia.

I always come back here, and i always buy at least 2kilos worth, keep in mind i finish eating it in less than half an hour, and that is when i take my sweet time to appreaciate the flavor to it’s fullest extent.
