When travelling into London via the tube I use the station at Chalfont and Latimer. The station is located in the small town of Little Chalfont which is in the Chilterns. The station also has the Chiltern Railways service from Aylesbury to London Marylebone running through it. Tube wise the station is on the metropolitan line that runs from Amersham in the north of London to Aldergate in the south. Also there is a service from here to Chesham.

The station has its own car park that is looked after by NCP and has the hawk eye camera system in operation which is very good. The car park is split into two and is very large.

The rates are very cheap as well. It cost me two pound twenty to leave the car there all day which is great. There is also a guard that looks after the car park and I feel happy leaving my car there while I’m in the city on business.

There is a small ticket off on the south bound side of the station which is next to the car park. There is normally two members of staff o in the ticket office. As well as the people in the office there are three ticket machines to buy your tickets or oyster card top ups from. There is also an electronic board telling us what the standard of ...

      • the of the service is. It is normally saying a good service they put this information on for all the underground lines and not just the metropolitan line, also they put the information on for the Chiltern railways.

On the southbound side there is a large waiting room with benches all the way around the inside of it. On the platform its self there are a few benches to wait at. In the morning the platform is quite busy with business people and children going to school.

There is a tunnel that links the southbound to the northbound. On the northbound side there are a few benches and a waiting room but no ticket office. From the northbound

you can leave the station and go into the centre of Little Chalfont. There is a taxi firm based just outside the platform.

When you leave the southbound ticket office there is a taxi firm who have there own waiting room and a fleet of taxis so you shouldn’t have to wait to long.

Ticket costs are around fifteen pound for a zone eight through to zone one ticket. A single to Paddington is seven pound. The tube runs around every ten minutes into the centre of London, some of the trains are fast and miss out some of the smaller stations on route.

Overall I would rate this station quite highly as it offers a good and reliable service.
