      One of DC Comics’ most underrated series of the 1980’s was the shortlived (50 issue) series VIGILANTE, which dealt with Adrian Chase, DC’s resident Punisher rip-off. Well, rip-off in the sense that he was a similar character,

      but the quality of the stories was SIGNIFICANTLY better than the lame Punisher stories of the same period.

      The Vigilante died in issue 50 and has stayed dead.

      • subsequent years to no impact) When Bruce “Incredible Hulk” Jones was brought in to script a Vigilante mini series, I had high hopes.

        And my hopes have been dashed.

        Jones has delivered a pretentious, dull miniseries that

        sees an unknown, new Vigilante stalking the streets.

        Who is the Vigilante? That’s the problem.

        Because the mystery is about finding out who the Vigilante is, Vigilante isn’t the focus of his own book!

        What’s the point of that? Buy Ennis’ Punisher series instead.
