It’s rare that I enjoy a sequel more than I enjoy the original and it is even less common when the original is good, but this is an exception. Predator is a movie all about action.

There are some smart points and probably some social commentary though I didn’t catch them at the

      time.

Predator 2 examines the predator far closer than the first.

In the first movie, the Predator was a monster from the tradition of monster movies.

Hard to kill, and scary because you don’t know much about it.

In this movie you slowly learn more about the predator and by the time it ...

      • is over you almost feel like you know that character.

The hero of this is also more interesting than Arnold was.

He is a cop who is struggling to keep the city under control.

He is of course the traditional 80’s cop which who breaks the rules and shoots everyone but if you

have to fight the predator this would be who you want I suppose.

The rest of the cast wasn’t all that great.

I just didn’t buy the other cops as real people at all and the government agents felt too much like comic relief.

Adam Baldwin was good, but in a traditional action movie way.
