  • After years of hearing just how bad Shrek the Third was I decided that it was time to try the movie myself
  • Artie wasn't all that interesting of a character and I just didn't buy the way that he saved the day
  • The problem with it was that the first movie earned the you can be whatever you want , part of the plot honestly by spending time building it up and having the character actually grow, while this was just a plot device

After years of hearing just how bad “Shrek the Third” was I decided that it was time to try the movie myself. I can certainly see why so many people disliked it but it was nowhere near as bad as I had expected.

One of the major problems with this movie is that it was following two very good movies and wasn’t willing

      to break new ground.

I won’t say that this is yet a pattern with Mike Meyers but it is getting dangerously close to one.

In this movie the king dies and Shrek is the next in line, but he doesn’t want the job so he goes to look for the next person in line for the job Arthur Pendragon.

      The Camelot addition to ...

      • this movie helped because it allowed the writers to bring something new into a world which had already played out its original joke but there just wasn’t enough.

Artie wasn’t all that interesting of a character and I just didn’t buy the way that he saved the day.

It was bringing back the theme of the first movie.

        The problem with it was

that the first movie earned the “you can be whatever you want”, part of the plot honestly by spending time building it up and having the character actually grow, while this was just a plot device.

Overall this movie isn’t good, but if you’ve read the reviews it’s probably not as bad as you’re expecting either and there are a few good laughs.
