When Activision told the world that they were going to follow up the fantastic award winning game, Call of Duty 4 with another World War II shooter, the fanbase was relatively dissapointed. Even I, before playing this game had a few pre-judgements. Could Call of Duty World at War live up to its Predecessor?

I’m here to tell the world, that the simple answer is “yes”.

Call of Duty World at War takes everything that was fantastic in Call

of Duty 4 and improves upon it. In this new installment, the graphics, enemy AI, and dramatic levels are all improved.

In regards to graphics, Call of Duty WaW (World at War) has the most fantastic visuals. There is one level towards the middle of the campaign where you are fighting in a Berlin apartment complex. When the german soldiers retreat through a broken wall onto the street, the rain literly drenches their clothes.

I have noticed a significant increase in enemy AI, especially on veteran mode. No longer do enemies rush towards you, machine guns blazing (exception being Japanese bayonet ambushes).

The drama is what you expect from a Call of Duty game. There are exploding buildings, bloody beach landings, and trench stormings. None of these instances are significantly new, but the way the

developers design the levels are incredibly exciting.

Finally, the multiplayer of Call of Duty Waw is fantastic. It draws from the traditional Call of Duty 4 multiplayer with weapon custimization and perk addition. One thing I especially appreciated was the fact that you could finally heal teammates when they fell into last stand.

All in all, the gameplay is fantastic, the graphics are epic, and the varied maps and weapons in multiplayer keep this review hungry for more.
