I was fairly surprised by this episode of CSI because it was a lot better than I thought it would be. The episode itself mainly takes place in the fantasy world and some of the favorite characters barely appear at all.

Hodges in the lab gathers up all the other techs to

run through some different scenarios and they learn that he’s working on a board game.

The game will focus on a group of lab techs with players each trying to solve a specific murder.

The game gets pretty involved with tempers flaring and emotions running wild when it’s each person’s time to ...

      • die in the game.

Eventually even Grissom gets involved in the game and seems to really enjoy himself, which makes Hodges feel like a million dollars.

The episode itself is fairly quirky and doesn’t really seem to fit into the rest of the CSI season.

This is one of the only times

where the emphasis is on fantasy or what could be instead of what is.

There’s also a lack of Warrick in the episode and both Nick and Catherine barely appear.

I will say though that I really liked getting the chance to see the secondary characters get a storyline of their own.
