For a long time, it would seem that DC Comics had lost its way. The publishing giant simply was not releasing any decent story lines and the readers noticed.

DC lost much ground to their competitors in Marvel Comics as Marvel simply had better comics.

Then, along came DC’s Final Crisis.

Final Crisis is essentially the culmination

of the past four years of DC story lines.

The main theme of Final Crisis involves the return of the many “multi-verses” in the DC Universe.

For those not familiar with the term, it refers to the many alternate realities that emerged over the past 70 years due to continuity issues.

To add cohesion to the narratives,

      • DC merged the many universes into one in 1985.

Then, in the past couple of years, the multi-verse has once again exploded.

The end result of this is the Final Crisis storyline that threatens the DC Universe with a doomsday, end of the world scenario.

While the whole world does not end in Final Crisis, there are

many great changes that happen as the universes split up once again and the lives of heroes and humans alike are impacted.

The effect on Superman and Batman is so shocking I will not give it away here.

I will simply say you would be most advised to pick up all seven issues of the Final Crisis limited series.
