Super Mario Galaxy for the Nintendo Wii is an exciting and visually stunning adventure, but sadly it doesn’t require very much motion sensor movement with the exception of a handful of levels. Basically, the game could have been designed to play using the Nintendo Gamecube controller or any other traditional controller and the level of fun and challenge would pretty much remain equal.

Even still though, this is a very impressive Mario game that offers gameplay never done before in a Mario game.

      I

liked the parts of the game that forced me to adjust my play style because of gravity shifts.

I would have to adjust to reversed controls because no longer is game play limited to running across flat surfaces, up hills, and sliding down slides - now I had to walk, complete jumps, and fight enemies upside down, sideways, and vertically! It’s definitely a whole new way to play that can be a little disorienting at times.

The different levels and galaxies are beautiful and ...

      • cleverly designed and planned and really offer challenges and worlds never before seen in a Mario game.

My only complaint is the levels and worlds are somewhat short and the game a lot of times forces me to follow a set path there isn’t as much exploring in this game as there was in Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine.

I also didn’t like how some stars required the same tasks to be completed through the use of comets, only with slightly different

conditions such as fighting a boss with just one health point or collecting a certain number of purple coins before time runs out.

I will say though the bosses all present a pretty good challenge, expect for the final boss, and the races are pretty tough at times.

Overall, this is a very impressive game with a few faults that won’t deter enjoyment that much at all.

I highly recommend this game to Mario fans and video game players too - this game really is stellar quality!
