If you want to learn about Natural Medicine then it’s probably best you go to another College like Southern School of Natural Therapies. The Australian College of Natural Medicine (ACNM) is known for not teaching properly. Their standards of teaching are virtually non-existent with most lecturers not teaching properly. I know it’s a mixed

bag with teachers at any educational institute but this place seems to be particularly bad.

Not only is it the teaching, it’s also the institution that causes poor learning. They say that most of it is “Self-Directed”, which in my opinion is hidden meaning for “CBF teaching you”. They only have one lesson on a topic, then the only time you’ll hear about it again is in the exam. Meaning that you ...

      • have to do more work than at most other universities for less reward. Also they don’t have tutorials, only lectures, so concepts aren’t always stuck in your head at the end of the week.

One thing that really highlights that this is a bad way to teach is the fact that people will generally be scoring really low on exams because they weren’t taught anything properly in the semester. You would think

that they would do mark reviews inside the college for each teacher, unfortunately not. It appears they’re not interested in making a good average for students, only taking they’re hard earned money.

They raise fees every semester making it more expensive than other universities then give you nothing to show for it. No improvements to courses or facilities for students, nothing! It was depressing to be a part of it.

I wouldn’t recommend anyone goes there for education.

Getting into a genuine, accredited A level natural medicine program through the lecture tier is not easy. I’ve tried it, and this strange woman who at times will claim to third parties to be my mother in law now has all those identification books and guides. The work is difficult, there are tens of thousands of pages of informatin to go through. It’s not for everyone - moreover, it’s extremely difficult to read all those Latin names. The attrition rate is going to be quite high. Studying at the Australian academy is less difficult for English speakers than going to the academy in Switzerland though, where classes are taught in German, French or Italian, basically.
