  • This is in my opinion Stephen King's worst book, nothing exciting really happens at all, most of the story is about the main characters childhood and how she was abused sexually by her father and fears this will happen again, I can hardly believe King wrote this, the story is about impending doom, and impending danger, and alludes to horrible things that may happen, but in the end nothing really happens at all, this feels like one of his short stories out of a collection, the books is around 300 pages long, maybe it was a short story that he added to to make into a novel, there is a lot of filler here

On second reading I actually thought Gerald’s Game was well done. The main character’s struggle both in the present and the past and how those two are in many ways were related. I will admit the first time I read it I wasn’t as impressed but I was also much younger then. Reading it a few years ago, I realized there was a lot I missed.
