The Wii Sports game is the most popular game for Nintendo Wii for good reason. The game features 5 different sporting activities: Baseball, boxing, tennis, golf, and bowling. Each game is easy to pick-up and involves little to no button use. The nature of each sport trancends many age gaps, which allowed my 47 yr old dad to play my 10 yr old sister in a competitive game of golf.

Baseball: - One person bats while another player pitches. Once the ball is hit, neither player has

any control over the players. The pitcher can throw a variety of pitches at different speeds using the A and B button, and the batter swings by merely doing the motion.

Boxing: - To play this game, the nunchuk has to be attached to the controller. This is for one player only, and that player holds a nunchuk in one hand and the controller in the other and uses them as boxing gloves.

Bowling: - This can be for 1-4 players. The player uses the controller to chose when ...

      • to throw the ball, and how much spin to put on it.

Tennis: - This is also 1-4 players. No buttons are required, and the players hit the ball by merely simulating a tennis hit.

Golf: - This game is my personal favorite because it requires the most skill. Also a 1-4 player game, each golfer must chose the correct club, placement, and power to obtain the best score out of the group. Great family game.

Pros: - Each game is easy to pick up regardless of age

or gaming experience - The games range from 1-4 players - The game teach valuable lessons about each sport. (for instance, in golf it shows younger kids which club to use in different situations)

Cons: - Each game is a little too basic and can get boring after a little while (My family got addicted to Wii golf for 2 weeks, but because there are only 9 holes to play, we soon had to upgrade to Tiger Woods golf) - There are some wireless remote issues, specifically in tennis. The arm movements sometimes don’t reflect the character’s movements.
