The League of Extraordinary Gentleman Vol 2
The big screen adaptation of Alan Moore's controversial comic series was nothing more than a third rate X-Men clone and avoided the subversive nature the books epitomized.
This second collection of the comic stories retells the HG Wells classic, WAR OF THE WORLDS and tosses in all the cool heroes and villians of literaary fame.
Mr. Hyde really takes center stage here as he is portrayed as an brutal anti-hero who does some very unkind things to the Invisible Man. I mean, really, really unkind.
Can he find redemption battling the aliens at the climax? You bet he does.
That's why the books are so much better than the big screen adaptation. There's action, but the action takes a back seat to the characters.
Check it out.
