      I’ve been enjoying the Clone Wars cartoon not so much because it is Star Wars but because it’s hard to find anything which feels like epic Science Fiction, and Shadow of Malevolence, the third episode in the season, manages to get that feel of a big universe better than any of the prequels. Even more impressive though is the care which the writers took. One of my favorite lines in this particular cartoon is

      the mention of being able to get someplace in less than 10 parsecs, a nod to a small mistake in the original movies than only fans would know, as well as adding that something is true, from a certain point of view, which couldn’t help but make me smile.         Again in this episode there is a feel of desperation and real danger as clones several of who die. There aren’t as many different things happening in this episode as the last and far less character development but

        the variety is fun too, as well as seeing a cartoon with an ongoing plot, as I for one hope that completely episodic television was went the way of the dodo. As long as they don’t decide at some point to dumb down the show for children, or the need to constantly return to places we’ve already been it should be excellent for a long time, but don’t tell Lucas or he’ll start writing the dialog himself.
