  • Sometimes Subway has pineapple for putting on their sandwiches and I love to get it on the side and eat it as a dessert after my bread and fresh saled vegetables

Subway sandwiches are as healthy as they claim to be. When you order a Subway sandwich though, there are some important things to remember if you are watchig your calorie intake.

I always order my sandwich to be made on a whole grain bread. If there is none available, try the kind which has the oats on the top; this will give you added fibre. Ordering the filling is simple if you start by choosing all the vegetables you can load onto it before any meat. Also, leave out the cheese unless it is a light sprinke of real grated parmesan cheese. Add some small slithers of jalapeno if you can eat those, the spice kicks your metabolism into high gear,

and it tastes great too! If you find the flavor of jalapenos too strong for your palate, ask for them on the side, rather than in your sandwich.

Choose fresh chicken, turkey or fish for your sadnwich. All of these are lower in fat, and therefore lower in calories. In addition, the fish will provide you with essential fatty acids such as the infamous omega 3. Red meat is OK in moderation, but if you have Subway on a regualr basis, only select lean red meat once or twice each week.

Buy a footlong sandwich instead of a six inch size. If you happen to be late home from work at night, you can take the other half home with you ...

      • for dinner, rather than grab something unhealthy from a fast food drive through on your way home. If you get off at normal time, pack your sandwich into a lunchbox and keep it in the refridgerator at work for next your day’s lunch.

Never order dressing on your sandwich, but if you absolutley must, ask for mustard. It has fewer calories and less fat than most mayonnaise products or ranch dressing; yes, even the light variety.

Sometimes Subway has pineapple for putting on their sandwiches and I love to get it on the side and eat it as a dessert after my bread and fresh saled vegetables. You might askk too, if they have any specials available and take a sheet

of he coupons with you for use for the rest of the week. Sometimes you will find these in your Sunday newspaper too.

Subway is an economical and healthy meal, with a usual special of $5.00 for a footlong sandwich. I also get Subway for our family once each week for the evening meal. This is better than eating a greasy and expensive pizza, saves me from cooking when I have other things to do, and only costs us $15.00 to serve 6 people. Try some Subway sandwiches this week, you can see what variety they have, and the nutritional information by visiting the following link.

I give Subway a healthy 10 out of 10 for freshness as well as good value for money!
