Pinnacle Mountain State Park is located just west of Little Rock, Arkansas. Aside fromthe spectacular scenery, Pinnacle Mountain has several hiking trails for people of any level of fitness.

I am not very fit, so we took one of several trails up the mountain right to the top, followed by a scenic walk around a flatland trail along the river banks.

There is an abundance of wildlife to see, as well as the beautiful flor which is strategically marked

with name plates at various points along the trails. If you like kayaking, you can also paddle downsteam for a couple of hours before returning to the park to cook a bar-b-que.

The entrance to the trails heading up the mountain is covered, and a guest book is provided for you to sign if you wish to do so. People come from all over the world to visit Pinnacle Mountain, and many of them return. There are public ammenities ...

      • available year round, and once each year there is a Pow Wow held in the grounds.

If you love to fish, sit under the shade of one of the massive oak trees and try your luck. Bring a picnic or your bicycle too, this is a place you will want to spend the whole day roaming, or even laying down with a book or taking a nap in the shade.

Pinnacle Mountain is an absolute must see when you are

next in Arkansas. Be sure to visit in winter if possible; the mountain looks spectacular with an inch of snow and ice glazing the landscape!

Follow HWY 10 out of Little Rock to locate Pinnacle Mountain, or visit arkansas.com to view some photos online and book a motel nearby so you can spend a whole weekend.

Pinnacle Mounatin is a spectacular attraction, and I gave it 10 out of 10 for its natural beauty and for a family oriented fun, day out.
