I hadn’t seen the Family Guy episode PTV in a while so I was thrilled to come across it on television today. This is a fantastic episode because it makes a mockery on how the FCC will sometimes overreact to people overreacting to something they might be offended to, rather than simply changing the channel.

      This

episode features Peter creating his own television station because the FCC starts censoring everything after a “trouser malfunction” at the emmy awards; something that is very similar to the Wardrobe Malfunction at the Super Bowl that caused widespread outrage from people with nothing better to do than complain.

In addition to the funny shows he puts ...

      • on his TV station, you have quite a few other jokes that are just hillarious.

Cobra Commander as the head of the FCC is classic; especially how he wants everything to be censored.

I forgot just how clever that character was and it was great seeing it spoofed.

I’m sure the whole episode is inspired by

a lot of the bad comments people would make about the sometimes offensive Family Guy series.

But, I have to love how it makes a spoof of itself by really going out of its way to show what’s wrong with how people view television.

If you don’t understand what makes Family Guy great, this is an episode you need to see.
