The best way to describe “The Forbidden Kingdom” is as a “Karate Kid” movie of sorts based in fantasy atmosphere with a lot of kung-fuu action. This is also the first movie where Jackie Chan and Jet Li are involved in the same movie project.

What is so stricking about “The Forbidden Kingdom” is that we get to see the actor, Jackie Chan interpret a very different role then usual and I am not referring to the fact that he wears a wig and is drunk most of the

time! For once we are not going to see Jackie Chan as the hero of the situation and, on the contrary, we will see him as person with a very weak personality!

The story of “The Forbidden Kingdom” is loosly based on the Chinese epic story “Journey to the West”, which is one of the four great classic novels of Chinese literature. The story is about Jason Tripitikas (Michael Angarano) who is obsessed with kung-fuu classic movies and books until his unexpected involvement in a fight with other boys ...

      • opens a door for him to a new and mysterious world. Here he meets some strange characters and learns to be courages and to fight for what is important.

“The Forbidden Kingdom” is the end result after five rewrites of the movie script where some of them took place while the movie was being filmed. Most scenes were shot in the United States of America and China. The director of this movie, Rob Minkoff directed also other important movie - “Stuart Little”.

I was very impress by the acting abilities

of 21 year old, Michael Angarano. I never watched any of his previous work, so it was the first time that I saw this actor on the big screen. I can certainly see why he was chosen for the part, apart from doing a great job, he is very charismatic.

“The Forbidden Kingdom” is more then just a movie were Jackie Chan and Jet Li teamed up. This movie represents a good mix of kung-fuu together with a fantasy story that most Chan’s and Li’s fan cannot afford to miss!
