  • The most interesting part of this book is actually not the Jones family history but the family history of Raine Tallentyre and the descendants of John Stillwell
  • For fans of this series, this is a must read, for those who may just be getting introduced to Jayne's Arcane Society Novels, I recommend starting with some of the earlier ones so that you can familiarize yourself with the Jones family and the Arcane Society

This was yet another satisfying Arcane Society Novel. For fans of this series, some of the characters are going to be familiar - once again we have the descendants of Sylvester Jones trying to prevent a rival group from creating their own version of the Formula that enhances natural paranormal abilities.

The most interesting part of this book is actually not the Jones family history

but the family history of Raine Tallentyre and the descendants of John Stillwell. Raine’s father was killed after the Jones’ investigative arm destroyed his lab believing he was trying to recreate the formula. As a result Raine’s Aunt Vella has been very suspicious of the Arcane Society.

John Stillwell’s direct descendant John Stillwell Nash is the architect behind recreating the original formula in an attempt to prove ...

      • his superiority over the Jones family line. What makes this interesting is that John Stillwell Nash is apparently not aware of some of John Stillwell’s other descendants who have similar ambitions.

This book is a page turner and satisfies the reader by providing enough answers while at the same time leaving the reader with the idea that they want to find out what the descendants

of John Stillwell are going to do next and wondering when it’s going to be Fallon Jones turn to find his match.

For fans of this series, this is a must read, for those who may just be getting introduced to Jayne’s Arcane Society Novels, I recommend starting with some of the earlier ones so that you can familiarize yourself with the Jones family and the Arcane Society.
