The book “The Vampire Armand” is one of Anne Rice’s most popular books from her collection, “The Vampire Chronicles”. It is also one of my favorite books from her also, as it tells the life story of one of my favorite vampires, the vampire Armand.

Before, in the series the reader doesn’t know much about this particular character, and thus he

is mentioned mostly as “the boy” in “The Vampire Lestat” and also in the book “Interview with the Vampire”.

I liked the vampire Armand, because of how he was described, which was as being androgynous, beautiful and dark. If you watched the movie “Queen of the Damned”, you’ll know he is nothing like the Armand you saw. He was even described in ...

      • the same book “The Vampire Armand” as being a saucy fiend by a particular character, which was a young man who he ran off and had an affair with in his mortal days.

I think Anne Rice fans will find this book appealing too, in the sense that it shows a different side to the teen vampire than many of us

have seen in the previous books. He comes off as more sensual, and seductive also since half of the time he is either trying to seduce the “man” who gave him a home, Marius. Thus, we are put on edge with the sexual tension between Armand and Marius as Armand enters adolescence as well as the tension between Armand and Bianca.
