  • To make the perfect cheeseball you will need 2 packages of cream cheese (regular and 1/3 less fat work the best, but if you're fat conscious you can use fat free) 1 lb of cheddar cheese (I like mild, but you can use sharp or extra sharp) 1 small jar of diced pimentos garlic powder onion powder chopped pecans *optional 1 package of hidden valley ranch dressing First start with softening your cream cheese, you can either let it sit out while you prepare the rest of the ingredients or you can warm it in the microwave for 30 seconds
  • Continue to mix all of the ingredients together and form into a ball, or whatever shape you like the best

With the holidays coming up friends and families usually gather around, waiting for the holiday meal to be served. What can you do to sate all those watering mouths that are anxiously awaiting your perfect dinner? Serve a very simple, and extremely tasty cheeseball.

      • the large grate works fine. You can add the jar of pimentos and sprinkle garlic powder and onion powder over the ingredients to taste. If you are using the dressing packet add that now. Continue to mix all of the ingredients together and form into a ball, or whatever shape you like the best.

Spread the chopped pecans onto a flat surface, a dessert plate works fine, and roll the ball into the pecans until the

entire surface is covered. Don’t be afraid to push down on the ball to get the pecans onto the surface, you can always reshape after you get the surface covered. When you’re done, wrap in saran wrap and place in refrigerator for an hour to chill.

Serve the ball on a large platter surrounded by ritz crackers. You can use other types of crackers, wheat thins, chicken on a biscuit, etc. Be sure to have a cheese serving knife to cut into the cheese ball with.
