This story is one of the pure romance novels by Sandra Brown. In this story, Erin O’Shea meets macho Lance Barett when she goes looking for her long-lost brother.

Erin is an orphan, and together with her brother, was given up for adoption when they were children. When she arrives at his doorstep, eager to meet her brother Kenneth, she is thrown into a surprise! Little did she know that her brother had been involved in an embezzlement and has escaped from his home. The people left in his house are his wife,

Melanie and Lance, who is put in charge of the embezzlement case.

Erin and Lance begins their journey with confusion on Erin’s end and suspicion on Lance’s part. Lance initially believes that Erin is in cahoots with her brother and sets out to prove his suspicion. Erin, however, believed that Lance was her brother and hence, was confused with the brute way Lance treated her on first sight.

After a few days, Erin’s identity is proven but she stays on because of Melanie. The both of them hits off well and Melanie requests Erin ...

      • to stay on with her. Lance and Erin, however, finds themselves tangled in a relationship that is sticky. The rest of the story goes on to describe what happens between them, with a little twist thrown in towards the end of the story.

Lance turns out to be Mr Macho with a surprisingly gentle nature. The way Brown depicts the couple - handsome and gorgeous, it’s as if reading about a fairy tale prince and princess. However, that doesn’t take the romance out of the story. Indeed, as I read on, I was

surprised by the personality that Lance took on. He is definitely a character that most women would want in their lives!

The romance novel has little surprises though, and is pretty similar to the other romance novels that Brown has written. There is little suspense, few twists and little excitement. Personally, I prefer her thrillers as they contain a lot more details and keep you glued to the book.

Nonetheless, if you are one of her romance novel fans, be sure to catch this. I would say it’s one of the better ones out there.
