  • I think there are certain things you are safe buying, such as lamps, bar stools, decorations, kitchen items, but when it comes to actually buying beds and sofas and chairs from IKEA, you should either spend more and buy the higher end IKEA stuff, or shop at a true furniture store
  • Another thing to consider is that I was always told that if you have all IKEA furniture in your house it screams that you're still in college or that you have a lot of debt

IKEA furniture is designed with functionality and style in mind. However, it is also designed for those with lower furniture budgets.

If you have a lot of people in your household you might want to spend a little more if you can and buy something sturdier.

I was given year-old IKEA furniture when I was 22 and used it for about two years and it lasted pretty well, but I was the only

person using everything and I took really good care of my furniture.

I had the Malm platform bed and a dresser with a hutch on top.

I also had a computer desk which I still use (3 years later) and it works just fine and is still in great condition.

I purchased a $30 coffee table from them and sat a 20″ TV on it and the legs bowed.

      I’ve purchased $12 wooden ...

I’m sure not everyone would think that, but ever since someone said that to me I’ve been very careful about what I buy from IKEA.

I try to look for things that don’t necessarily look like they came from IKEA, though I could spend days in that store.
